Honoring My Mom
Honoring Colette: My Mom
Dear Friends-
Losing my mother feels like a powerful teaching in itself, an invitation into impermanence, gratitude, and the vast web of interdependence. When our mother passes, we come face to face with the truth of impermanence. In Buddhist practice, this is not necessarily a cause for despair, but a doorway to wisdom. We realize that every moment of connection was—and still is—sacred.
My mother passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 91. She lived independently, free from pain and medication, and true to form, she died doing what she loved—Reading. If we can all be so lucky.
A mother of six children, she was a force of nature who also found time to write and publish two novels.
May this season bring you opportunities to turn inward, refine your intentions, and nurture what matters most. Thank you for being part of my journey, and I look forward to seeing you on the mat, online, at the beach, in retreat or in the grocery store.
